SHALOM. I invite you to this pretty challenging lesson (2 Timothy 2:7 Consider what I say; and the Lord give thee understanding in all things. AMEN).
1. PAUL’S REVELATION. All the Epistles that Paul wrote were as a result of Revelation. Galatians 1:12-13 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the REVELATION of Jesus Christ (Yahshua Messiah, in Hebrew language). For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the JEWS’ RELIGION, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God (Elohim), and wasted it.
2. APOSTLE PETER’S TESTIMONY ABOUT PAUL. Peter recognized that the things Paul wrote were as per the wisdom bestowed upon him by Elohim. He further said that these things were hard to understand and that many wrest leading them to error and destruction 2 Peter 3:15-18 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved BROTHER PAUL also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;
As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things HARD TO BE UNDERSTOOD, which they that are UNLEARNED AND UNSTABLE wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.
Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour JESUS CHRIST. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.
3. SAUL VS PAUL. When Paul followed the Jewish religion, he was a sinner. He injured the Church. But he got mercy from above, and he became Paul. He joined the true way . He warns those purport to teach the law, that they know not what they teach. SEE 1 Timothy 1:7, 13-14 Desiring to be TEACHERS OF THE LAW; UNDERSTANDING NEITHER WHAT THEY SAY, NOR WHEREOF THEY AFFIRM.
In verse 13, he says that before he was a blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy, because I did it ignorantly in unbelief. And the grace of our Lord was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Messiah Yahshua.
4. BRETHREN, ARE YOU A PAUL OR A SAUL? It’s up to you what you choose. Saul, the carnal man will always persecute Paul, the spiritual man. Much as Cain killed Abel. As Ishmael vs Isaac. As Esau persecuted Jacob. As bondage vs. freedom. Just as the allegory Paul used as Jerusalem in bondage then vs. the Heavenly Jerusalem that is free (Galatians 4:24-27). READ Galatians 1:22-24 And was unknown by face unto the churches of JUDAEA which were in Messiah: But they had heard only, That he which persecuted us in times past now preacheth the faith which once he destroyed. And they glorified God in me.
5. LAW CAN NEVER MAKE ONE RIGHTEOUS! Let no one lie to you that observing the law of Moses and judging others that they are not righteous because they do not keep it! Look around and smell the coffee! How are your young men and women living in fornication? And you pride yourselves in the law? SEE
Romans 9:31-32
But Israel, which followed after THE LAW OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, hath not attained to THE LAW OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, Wherefore? Because they sought it NOT BY FAITH, but as it were by the WORKS OF THE LAW. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone;
Romans 10:4
For Messiah is the end of the LAW FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS to every one that believeth.
Galatians 2:21
I do not frustrate the GRACE of Elohim: for if RIGHTEOUSNESS come by the LAW, then Messiah is dead in vain.
Galatians 3:21
Is the law then against the promises of Elohim? Elohim forbid: for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law.
Philippians 3:9
And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Messiah, the righteousness which is of Elohim by faith.
6. DIFFICULT. I know this is a difficult lesson for the COG. BUT, it’s time for an honest conversation. Observance of the law of Moses as a means to righteousness won’t get us no where. Let us go back to the first principles. What did the first angel’s message entail? We cannot purport to preach the third angel’s message, while we have no idea about the first angel’s message, which Saul preached! We cannot preach liberty to people while we are in bondage of law! SEE
2 Peter 2:19 While they PROMISE THEM LIBERTY, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the SAME IS HE BROUGHT IN BONDAGE.
AND
Matthew 23:15 Woe unto you, SCRIBES and PHARISEES, hypocrites! for ye COMPASS SEA AND LAND to make one PROSELYTE (New believer), and when he is made, YE MAKE HIM TWOFOLD MORE THE CHILD OF HELL THAN YOURSELVES.
7. THE STANDARD REMAINS. The saints keep the 10 commandments of Elohim and Faith of Yahshua. The ones the devil is keen on and persecutes are the ones who keep the 10 commandments of Elohim abd and the Testimony of Yahshua! AND NOT THE ONES WHO KEEP THE LAW OF MOSES!
